Match Terms

Joining a match
Using Jotduel means accepting these Match Terms. A person who cannot accept them should not play through the app. Non-waivable consumer protections remain available.
One device, two participants
Jotduel is a recreational tool for people physically sharing a device. The participants are responsible for agreeing who will play, which settings apply, and whether a rematch or recorded outcome is accepted. The app does not act as a referee outside the rules it displays.
Fair and respectful play
Do not enter an abusive, discriminatory, unlawful, deceptive, or rights-infringing nickname. Do not alter the device, interrupt another player's turn, or use local records to misrepresent an agreed result. Disagreements between participants should be resolved by the participants.
Your limited game license
The operator permits personal, non-commercial play on supported Apple devices you own or control. This permission is revocable, non-exclusive, and non-transferable. Jotduel's code, graphics, written rules presentation, name, and built-in materials remain protected property.
Technical boundaries
You may not tamper with game state, defeat safeguards, introduce harmful code, extract protected assets, redistribute the app, or reverse engineer it except where applicable law expressly allows an exception. Automated or commercial exploitation is not permitted.
Scores and saved history
Calculations and match history are supplied for personal reference. Device failure, deletion, a software defect, or an operating-system change can affect local records. Keep any separate record that matters to you; Jotduel does not promise recovery from a remote archive.
Releases and availability
The game, its rule presentation, and its compatibility may be revised, suspended, or discontinued. Continuous operation on every device or iOS version is not promised. An update may change available games, appearance, calculations, or stored-record compatibility.
Apple's role
App Store and Apple device rules accompany these Terms. The agreement is with Jotduel's operator rather than Apple. Apple has no maintenance obligation except one created by its platform terms or mandatory law.
No guaranteed result
Jotduel is supplied as available. Where the law permits, implied warranties of merchantability, fitness, non-infringement, accuracy, uninterrupted operation, and preservation of every match record are disclaimed. Legally mandatory remedies are not removed.
Risk allocation
The operator is not liable, within lawful limits, for indirect, special, incidental, consequential, exemplary, or punitive loss arising from play or unavailable local data. Liability that cannot be excluded is limited to the lowest amount permitted by applicable law.
Leaving the game
You can end use at any time. A material breach can end the license. Revised Match Terms may be posted with a new date, and continued play counts as acceptance only where allowed by law.
